21 Miles of Prayer

“37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” - Matthew 9:37-38

Traditionally, the Fall is known as harvest season. The time when crops planted in Spring and Summer reach full maturity and are gathered. As we begin another Fall semester, we believe a spiritual harvest season is before us as well.

As we prepare to return to two Sunday services and anticipate the growth God will bring, we want to cover every step in prayer.

That's the heart behind our 21 Mile Prayer campaign. Over the next 21 days, we're inviting our whole church to saturate our city and region in prayer, one mile at a time. Whether you're walking your neighborhood, running your usual route, or driving to work, school, or errands, every mile becomes an opportunity to pray over the people, streets, and places God puts in front of you.

  • Walking? Pray for the homes and neighbors you pass.

  • Running? Let each mile mark a prayer over our city's future.

  • Driving? Turn your commute into intercession for our region.

May the prayers we sow along every mile become seeds that produce a harvest of transformed lives, miracles, and God-stories that only He can write.

How to participate?

There is no right or wrong way to participate in this prayer campaign. You can set a goal to walk a mile every day and pray during that time, or set a goal to pray during your commute to work or while driving around town. Flexible yet intentional is our posture.

Prayer Walks

Walking the places or schools the Lord puts on your heart and praying aloud or silently as you walk.

Prayer Runs

Running through your neighborhoods, city, or schools and praying to the Lord as you run.

Prayer Drives

Add a few minutes to your commute before or after work, drive around campus or your kids’ school, or take the long way home, and pray and ask the Lord to move in our city and region.

    4. Pray and ask God to pour out His Spirit over the place(s) you’re in.

    5. Pray for God to use you to reach the places you’re praying for.

Church-Wide Prayer Walks

  • We’ll meet at the courthouse in downtown San Marcos, break into small groups, and prayer-walk downtown.

  • Prayer walking at Texas State University.

    Park on or near campus and meet us near the theater building.

  • Prayer walking along the river.
